The Company:
A global, upstream oil and gas company

The Role:
Responsible for reviewing, commenting on and accepting specifications while ensuring that the work is planned and executed in accordance with the company’s project execution plan and policies for HSQE protection. Ability to work with minimal supervision, on a number of projects covering both topsides and subsea workscopes.
This role will support the electrical upgrades on the project, and should have an electrical bias to support delivery of this project. The electrical upgrade forms one part of the overall Brownfield modifications to support an extensive brownfield modifications as part of a subsea tie-back and new bridge linked platform. Electrical upgrades involve HV/LV switchboard, UPS & Telecomms / Navaids upgrades.


Responsibilities:
Maintain the 'stage gate' processes through all phases of the project delivery system
To work in accordance with the company’s project department management system.
Provide technical assistance the development of the company’s project department management system.
Remain abreast of legislative requirements.
Approval, checking and preparation of design/engineering documentation.
Develop and enhance processes and systems for wider use in the discipline.
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant codes, standards and procedures.
Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
Ensure delivery of all aspects of discipline design, specification and procurement of the project to cost, schedule and quality criteria.
Ensure technical integrity of all discipline deliverables on the project.
Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the project.
Report periodically progress status to the line and function reporting lines.
Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered.
Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology & codes and standards.
Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel and contractors.
Provide input to the Main Scope Contractors in relation to process engineering matters
Review comments from the Certifying and Verification Authority on process design issues.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Management of the technical interface with third party host facility, and interface with host facility contractors.
In conjunction with project planner, maintain detailed and accurate schedule, including identification of critical path activities, and provide focus on critical activities.
In conjunction with project cost engineer, contribute to cost reviews, spend forecasting and estimating.
Assist project manager in maintaining good dialogue with external stakeholders and internal management.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Past exMajor Brownfield project experience essential
Experience on major controls upgrade projects essential
Electrical experience involving HV/LV switchboard, UPS & Telecomms/Navaids upgrades is essential
