The Company:
Our Client is a global leader in the supply of facilities and services for the development and production of offshore oil and gas fields as well as the systems relevant to mooring technology. Due to rapid growth they require the best engineers available to support their operations world wide.

The Role:
Will be part of the Project Management Team and directly assist the Project Manager with overall planning, cost control, coordination and performance of projects assigned to him. The Project Engineer will be the liaison between the PMT and the Client. He/she will be expected to act as designee for the Project Manager during vacation leaves and other periods of absence. The Project Engineer will review the contract documents and the Project Handover Report from Sales Department and will identify pending matters, obtain clarification of any unclear information and highlight contractual items which require special follow-up or might involve exceptional and unacceptable risks.
He/she will serve as the liaison with the Client during the lifetime of the project and will be active in change order negotiations.
Other duties include preparation of the planning for the various activities of the project, assisting the Project Manager in preparation of all project documentation and deliverables. To monitor progress and update the planning as required to ensure that milestones and delivery dates are met. To review the contract specifications and the requirements therein to highlight critical areas to the Production Department. To monitor, in collaboration with the Engineering Department, the production of AFC drawings on schedule to meet the requirements of the Project Schedule and Production Schedule.
To assist the Project Manager in establishing, in collaboration with the Purchasing Department, a bidders list for potential subcontractors and suppliers of specialist services and equipment. To prepare scope of work for subcontracted activities and perform technical and commercial evaluation of tenders received for that work. To organize bid evaluation review meetings in collaboration with the relevant departments (Engineering, QC, Site Supervision, Administration). To prepare the budget variances if required.
To ensure efficient and accurate administration of the contract in collaboration with the Project Manager. To review the monthly Financial Forecast; To monitor the invoicing process to the Client as well as from suppliers and subcontractors; To review Non-Conformance Reports raised by clients and subcontractors.
To prepare Daily, Weekly and Monthly Project Reports as required. To ensure that the project documents are duly closed out and archived. To attend weekly meetings with Clients and subcontractors and record the minutes of meetings.
An important part of the role is to mentor and train local engineers to improve their knowledge and expand their experience.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree or Technical College diploma in Engineering; 5-7 years experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry. Fluent in written and spoken English.
