The Company:
Our client is a large independent oil and natural gas company that is focused on helping meet the world’s energy needs.

The Role:
Main Function:

(This role is performed at various levels, commensurate with incumbent’s previous experience).

Reporting to the Project Manager or a project discipline manager, the PE is responsible for: major multi-discipline design engineering deliverables; technical & safety integrity of that design; engineering interfaces with the procurement function; follow- on engineering interfaces with QA, construction, installation and facilities start-up activities.

Plays a key project team integrator role; is expected to be conversant across all functional areas of the project; identifies and highlights to the Project / discipline Manager any deviations from the agreed project premises or principles.

Brings specialist skills in a key engineering discipline (typically process or facilities engineering; marine or floating facilities expertise; civil works experience) but is competent to supervise all technical discipline work associated with the assigned object(s).

The PE will lead key activities which require a detailed technical knowledge base, such as quantified project risk assessment, hazop, safety case compilation and project data management.

The PE will lead a technical, multidiscipline team of engineers and designers and other functional specialists as required, so conducts all supervisory and motivational duties for the assigned team.

May also be assigned to work in other functional areas e.g. facilities commissioning, construction coordination or operations interface coordination.


•Technical responsibility during FEL / pre-sanction phase; authors technical scope and design basis narratives; design specifications; key input to cost and scheduling estimates. Key interface with business development, subsurface and commercial business unit teams.
•Supervises contractor design team activities; is responsible for progress and integrity of design, quality and accuracy of design work. Advises the team on correct design procedures and specifications.
•Manages HAZOP / HAZID activities. Supervises Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA) technical work. Assembles and submits the facility Safety Case to independent approving authority.
•Responsible for controlling schedule and cost of assigned object(s). Manages cost trends emanating from design change. Authorises technical change orders & coordinates specialist discipline review.
•Implements all project documentation and data coordination and preservation routines.
•Coordinates responses to technical audits; HAZOP findings; spec deviations as reported by QA/QC functions; construction site technical queries.
•Obtains assistance from corporate engineering services as required.
•Obtains assistance from corporate HSE groups as required.
•Ensures design deliverables comply with host country development permits and regulations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1.10+ years of major international oil / gas project experience
2.Degree in engineering discipline. Demonstrable technical competency. Proven management and staff leadership skills.
3.Proven experience in administering key components of project execution plans, from pre-sanction through execution and start-up.
4.Genuinely internationally mobile; experience of and aptitude for working in a diverse cultural environment.
5.Demonstrable interpersonal, teambuilding and team leading skills
Must have experience in: facilities, drillsite/pipeline, flow lines
