The Company:
Our client, a major oil and gas operator, is seeking a Project Engineer for one of their projects.

The Role:
The client is currently searching for a Project Engineer to support the project. This position will be a critical member of the Houston based project team for Angola, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Primary role will be to provide mechanical engineering and project engineering support for the project. Primary duties will involve reviewing mechanical equipment inspection data and making repair or replacement recommendations. This position will provide the contractor with technical recommendations regarding the sour service operations and NACE compliance. In addition to the technical work, this position will provide project support which will involve developing the a Decision Support Package for the project, developing presentations for DRB Meetings and presenting to CABGOC Management, Partners and the Concessionaire. This position will interface with the contractor, and provide work direction and technical support. Help project apply CPDEP principles.
The objective of the project is to mitigate the H2S produced from the souring field, implement safety recommendations and address end of life issues to allow the FPSO to safely operate to the end of its economic limit. Some of the key roles and responsibilities of the Project Engineer include:
• Leads the effort to complete the Sour Service Inspections which includes weld hardness testing and Time Of Flight Diffraction (TOFD). Interface with ETC Materials Experts to make recommendations regarding pipe and equipment replacements.
• Review technical documents developed by the Contractor and provide comments.
• Interface with EPC Contractor, FPSO Operator, CABGOC Management, JV Partners and the Concessionaire to provide program updates. This will include developing weekly reports, monthly reports, meeting and technical workshops with the different stakeholders.
Job Knowledge and Proficiency: Have an understanding of NACE standards for piping and equipment operating in sour service. Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint a requirement. Have a basic understanding of Project Management and CPDEP principles. Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-functional and multi cultural collaborative environment, and within a complex project environment. Able to lead work teams to provide cost and performance data in support of project performance assessment and reporting requirements. Demonstrated history of supervising National staff in foreign locations. Experienced with staff performance evaluations, career development, coaching and mentoring. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills to defend project results and impacts of decisions on project schedule and performance to JV partners, client Management and other Stakeholders. Ability to manage expectations with project Teams, Stakeholders and effective communication of deadlines in a multi-project team environment with competing priorities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is preferred. A four year degree with 2 - 5 years of experience.
