The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
Function:

To develop schedules within overall plan. Prepare resource forecasts for specific engineering
tasks. Liaise with sub-contract vendors. Assuring conformity at all times. Ensuring that
forecasts are in accordance with project commitments and plans. Core commitment to coordinate
and maintain quality control of all engineering works.

Responsibilities:

Quality, safety and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety).
Liaison with and provision of an Engineering Service to the Estimating, Fabrication and Construction Division/Departments.
Provide a document control service when required.
Material TakeOffs.
Detailed engineering of drawings. Raise technical queries.
Manhour targeting for shop fabrication, site erection and tender purposes.
Data inputting e.g., MTO's manhour take offs, drawing revisions and contract staff timesheets.
Attend kick-off meetings and compile engineering checklist.
Attend fabrication progress meetings.
Ensure that all weekly returns are received and processed accordingly.
Responsible for ensuring that information input into the database regarding engineering
aspects and target manhours is transmitted efficiently and accurately.
Responsible for the advancement of the Junior Engineers and other disciplines.
To ensure that procedures are maintained during the project.
To identify and report possible problems to the Project/Production Managers and recommend possible solutions for such problems.
To attend Design meetings and maintain liaison with the various disciplines where appropriate.
Individual risk awareness within job role.
To liaise with other discipline specialists to ensure that a fully integrated detailed design is achieved where appropriate.
To control engineering within the project.
To monitor/co-ordinate resolution of clash checking of the physical components of the work.
To co-ordinate preparation of commissioning procedures.
To liaise and monitor Design Subcontractors.
To monitor the Subcontractors' progress and inform the Project Manager/The Director/Yard Manager
To forward and action Site Instructions.
To instruct the Subcontractor, via the Project Manager, concerning design changes/requests.
To review inspection plans and packages relating to the project.
To perform and report inspections in accordance with Inspection Plans.
To review Site Queries prior to submission to Client.
Identify and highlight any further training requirements of their personnel.

Competency Requirements:

Planning and organisational skills that enable the implementation of their duties and the company strategy.
Communicate in a positive manner with all staff/departmental managers and client interfaces.
An understanding of company quality, safety, health and environmental systems and programmes.
Business Commercial Awareness
Must be computer literate.


Minimum 5 years experience in construction and design.
Degree in Engineering preferred.
Minimum of HNC required.
