The Company:
Our client is a major global operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Location: London / Aberdeen (or London) / Tunisia

Responsible for all aspects of piping and mechanical work. Day to day management of the Engineering Contractor and monitoring of work progress.

Maintain the phase-gate processes through all phases of the project delivery system
Approval, checking and preparation of design/engineering documentation
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures and remain abreast of legislative requirements.
Maintain focus on major packaged equipment progress.
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures.
Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
Ensure delivery of all aspects of discipline design, specification and procurement of the project to cost, schedule and quality criteria.
Ensure technical integrity of all discipline deliverables on the project.
Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the project.
Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered.
Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology & Codes and Standards.
Review comments from the Certifying and Verification Authority on mechanical and piping design issues.
Participate in HAZIDs and HAZOPs as required.
Report to the Project / Engineering Manager any delays in progress of Piping / Layout design.
Evaluate discrepancies in design from the Basis of Design basis, specifications and scope of work, advise the Project / Engineering Manager and assist in resolving the issues.
Ensure that corporate and project safety, environmental and quality and standards are implemented and maintained in the design.
Identify potential change in conjunction with Engineering Contractor and input to Management of Change process.
Witness Factory Acceptance Tests and performance tests of equipment, when required

Candidate Profile:
Demonstrate the ability to liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel and contractors.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Piping or Mechanical engineering background is essential
Experience of cost reviews, spend forecasting and estimating
Previous experience working on projects within the Oil & Gas industry is required
