The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Nova Scotia.

The Role:
The Project Engineer is responsible for monitoring, facilitating, and coordinating the execution of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction for defined projects and bridging the transition between project stages and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and manages the efforts of Company and Contractors to meet project objectives
• Oversees project Contractors preparation of all technical and execution documentation
• Develops Company project deliverable documentation and obtains appropriate sign offs
• Monitors and appraises contractor's planning, execution and controls to ensure cost ans schedule targets are met
• Coordinates Company response to Contractor queries in a timely manner to avoid project impact
• Establishes/coordinates Company review requirements (e.g. HAZOP, constructability, operability, and maintenance)
• Manages interfaces between Contractor and Company representatives
• Coordinates with Construction and Operations the field execution activities including safety, quality, cost, and schedule control aspects
• Interfaces with Company subject matter experts and Contractor for resolution of project issues
• Stewards Contractor scope changes throughout the project execution
• Review and condition contractor estimates to use as inputs into Company project estimates
• Reviews and provides feedback on contractor monthly reports

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills
• Strong knowledge of project management, engineering and execution principles for major offshore oil and gas projects (offshore installation / subsea experience preferred)
• Significant experience in managing projects in a brownfield environment, including interface management with an ongoing Opeartions organisation
• Broad knowledge of Industry standards, specifications, and work processes
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
