The Role:
• Responsible for delivering projects that meet all safety, cost, schedule, and business goals through application of project management procedures/techniques.
Project Initiation
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
• Define project tasks and resource requirements.
• Prepare AFE requests for management approval of funds.
Project Planning
• Lead the planning and implementation of projects.
• Manage the development of and adherence to project schedules.
• Identify synergies among multiple capital projects and refinery-wide initiatives/programs.
Project Execution
• Manage the execution of assigned projects to meet all defined goals.
• Coordinate material and services procurement efforts.
• Work with all departments across the business unit including operations, process and turnaround organizations.
• Develop effective relationships with various contractors providing project services such as engineering and construction.
Project Control
• Manage project cost control including budget and estimate development, cost reporting including monthly/yearly spending projections.
• Coordinate closely with the construction management for assigned projects.
• Monitor and report on progress of projects to all key stakeholders and project sponsors.
• Prepare and present reports defining project status/progress, risks and opportunities.
• Facilitate communication among refinery departments on issues during all project phases.
• Assure technical quality of all work performed on assigned projects.
• Assure compliance to a broad range of industry codes, standards, and governmental regulations.
Project Completion
• Coordinate input of QA/QC groups including local and corporate inspection departments.
• Ensure completion/updates of all records, drawings, procedures, and turnover is complete through the management of change process.
• Perform project evaluations and assessment of results.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls background or experience preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• 5+ years in Engineering/related field.
• 2+ years in project related work preferred.
