The Company:
Our Client has been involved in Angola since the 1970s. They have built a strong foundation for long term growth through both exploration and development success and they hold a strong position in nine major deepwater licenses.

The Role:
Based in Luanda, Angola on a 6/2 rotation

Reporting to the Area Project Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of project delivery following company engineering practices and QA/QC principles. They act as the overall coordinator for all internal and external engineering deliverables and successful integration of a variety of disciplines activities including but not limited to equipment, civil, structural, piping, electrical.

Key Accountabilities:
• Develop scopes of work for Repair Orders and Projects to be carried out by an EPC contractor.
• Act as the Single Point of Accountability with engineering contractor to resolve scope clarifications. Interface with the Area Project Manager and/or Engineering Lead to resolve engineering issues.
• Co-ordinate the development of stage gate deliverables to meet company Common Process requirements for projects.
• Interface with the Project Services to develop budgets, schedules and risk mitigation plans for assigned projects.
• Work closely with cost engineer to monitor project progress and forecast against approved budgets and flag conflicts to the Area Project Manager for resolution.
• Work closely with planning engineer to update the portfolio and project schedule.
• Develop and issue weekly and monthly project reports.
• Ensure Activity Planning gate readiness criteria for activities entering the Functional 8Q, 6 week & 12 week plans are met.
• Engage relevant discipline subject matter expertise to ensure contractors’ delivery is aligned with company and region objectives and standards.
• Drive alignment with Stakeholders and Interface Management for assigned projects.
• Drive execution efficiency and waste elimination across the assigned projects.
• Design, execution and close-out of assigned projects to company quality standards. Conform to Management of Change procedure and Engineering Technical Practices.
• Coach younger project engineers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven working experience as a Project Engineer leading multidiscipline projects from conception to close-out ( i.e., Piping, Process, Structural, Instrumentation, and Electrical.);
• Minimum of 5 years is the Energy Sector Upstream, Midstream or Downstream with a broad understanding of oil processing plants;
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, international engineering best practices and performance standards;
• Experience in the generation of offshore workpacks and fit for purpose quality assurance/control;
• Experience in interface with Engineering Contractors to drive engineering deliverables to meet cost, schedule and quality requirements;
• Project management, supervision and coaching skills;
• Decision making ability and leadership skills;
• Time management, planning and organisation skills;
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of Computerized Work Management, Change Management process, Risk Management and other relevant practices;
• Solid know
