The Company:
Our client is working as part of a new project to design, construct and commission a new mining and processing operation within Western Australia and are currently building a team to support this project.

The Role:
* Direct integrated team members in order to achieve Project objectives
* Consult with stakeholders and integrate their requirements (subject to change control)
* Review and approve external consultants design packages
* Sign as author of project and tender documentation
* Recommend for approval - project estimates, tender documentation, contract awards, invoices, Contractors management plans, progress claims and periodic reporting, notices of practical completion and project close out documentation
* Maintain communication with Design Group Leads
* Developing the Construction Tender Packages in conjunction with the Contracts and Procurement Team
* Assess, in association with the Contracts and Procurement Team, suppliers' capability to meet the quality requirements of the Project
* Prepare and issue audit reports noting system non-conformances and verifying effective corrective action
* Follow up of audit findings and corrective actions
* Implement and coordinate all inspection and quality control functions
* Raise Non-Conformance Reports as necessary
* Provide support to team members in resolving engineering, constructability, works methodology and project management issues
* Prepare budget estimates, monitor and track project expenditure, evaluate and verify execution package financial claims
* Assist the commissioning manager with all commissioning activities
* Any other reviews and checking for which they are nominated by the Project Manager or Engineering Manager

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in relevant engineering discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
* Demonstrable focus on management of safety
* Highly motivated self-starter with team lead/management experience
* Minimum of 10 years relevant/current mining or related experience in project start-up and preferably in an Owner's Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment
* Demonstrated ability in pumping system design and implementation
* Experienced in effective stakeholder/relationship management and with excellent communication skills
* Project management experienced for complete delivery of projects in greenfield and/or brownfield mining
* Experience managing contract scope, quality, schedule and cost of package(s)
* High level understanding of project controls, design documentation, procurement processes and delivery
