Project Development Engineer - Design Engineer - Costing - Project Engineer - Mechanical & Electrical

We are looking to recruit a project development engineer who has experience in the renewable energy industry, someone who has or wants to work in the bioenergy sector. The role requires:-
To provide key design and costing support to an ambitious and established Company operating in the wood bioenergy sector. The company provides a range of services to clients seeking to generate hot water, steam and power from bioenergy in the industrial, commercial and public sectors. Demand for such services is set to grow dramatically as a result of recent Government focus on the sector
The Project Development Engineer will be responsible for producing project designs, costing’s and schedules spanning a variety of interesting projects on an on going basis. The role is a key one for the success of the company and the successful candidate can look forward to much responsibility from an early stage.
The role of the Project Development Engineer will cover a number of different activities in relation to the design, development, installation and operation of biomass energy plant. These activities are briefly summarised below:

•Assessment of client energy demand profiles, existing heating plant and site suitability for plant installation.
•Matching boiler plant and equipment to the client’s heat demand profile
•Designing boiler plant schemes and producing accurate costings.
•Liaison with boiler plant manufacturers
•The preparation and presentation of proposals to clients.
•Undertaking whole life cost modelling.
•Liaison with providers of civil works, mechanical and electrical installations.
•Liaison with the company fuel supply team and operations team.

The Project Engineer has a wide ranging role covering both managerial and technical activities. The objective of the role is to successfully facilitate the sale, design procurement and installation of biomass boiler plant.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Have a thorough working knowledge of hot water, steam and power systems and applications as utilised in the industrial, commercial and public sectors.
•Have an understanding of the use of wood based biomass in such applications and have knowledge of the types of M&E equipment and boilers used .
•Have experience in the design and development of such M&E projects.
•Be familiar with the use of CAD and other design/development software packages.
•Be accustomed to accurately costing projects and procuring equipment.
•Hold a degree in Mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline.
•Have at least three years experience of working in a design/development role.
•Have experience in developing projects from concept through to construction.
