The Role:
Experienced user of 1-D engine simulation (Ricardo WAVE, GT Power) to drive air induction and exhaust system designs to meet orifice noise targets. Experienced user of BEM tools such as LMS/SYSNOISE to verify 1-D modes. Experienced in building simulation models 1-D & BEM acoustic analysis. CFD (Fluent) 3-D simulation modelling and analysis Expert knowledge of duct acoustics and acoustic impedance devices. Collaborate with component activities to provide design direction and confirmation to achieve targets for function and cost. Able to produce reports, procedures and presentations with proposed solutions. Proven team working capability, motivation and ability to work on own initiative. Able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience with 1-D gas dynamics software (Wave, GT-Power) Fundamental understanding of the powertrain NVH and acoustics principles pertaining to Air Induction and Exhaust noise. Turbo Flow Induced noise, Exhaust flow loss (1-D), Induction flow loss (CFD), Induction System/Resonator design, Inlet noise prediction, Radiated Noise.
Acoustic or Mechanical Engineering degree. MSc beneficial

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
CAE application to simulate and optimise AIS/Exhaust radiated and structural noise.
