The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Working to ensure that our customers benefit from the highest levels of personal protection whilst in their vehicles without unduly compromising each vehicles on-road driving dynamics and off-road capabilities. Delivering products which fully meet the relevant Type Approval for the territories in which they operate. The purpose of the role is to own all aspects of the Chassis components used on our Armoured products. Taking programmes from pre KO investigations right through to Job 1 delivery of fully Engineered and signed-off features and components. Working very closely with your colleagues across all of the Core Chassis Engineering teams to obtain their advice/guidance in order to deliver systems to agreed standards. This will involve areas as diverse as developing bespoke braking systems, getting the ABS system tune to work at the higher masses involved, developing ARB's, springs & dampers, delivery of all Chassis software, etc. Frequently pushing the boundaries of our existing Chassis systems capabilities.

The successful candidate will have the support of the current Armour CAD team and the ability to outsource packages of work/testing as required. Developing good links with all of your suppliers of components, test services, etc. will be vital if you are to deliver the best components at the best costs.

Skills Required:
Extensive knowledge across all Chassis systems is an absolute essential.
Experience in component/system delivery and development.
Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 or Digi-Buck / Vis-Mock-up Plus Tce
Knowledge of JLR engineering release and change management systems.
Experience of problem solving tools and able to lead problem resolution initiatives.
Good communication and presentation skills to all levels - essential.
Data analysis and PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project - essential
Experienced in WERS, AIMs, eFDVS/RMDV, APQP and PSW processes - essential.
Good team player/leader, who is self-motivated to deliver good quality products - essential.

Skills Preferred:
Excellent knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products.
Excellent knowledge of product development systems used in the automotive industry.
Excellent knowledge of quality tools used in industrial applications e.g.. DVP, FMEA, DFA, Robustness
Working knowledge of issue tracking and release systems e.g.. BOM, AIMS, WERS
Knowledge of vehicle homologation requirements
Working knowledge of project planning tools e.g. MS Project
Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly tooling methods and lead-times.
Good working knowledge of materials used in modern vehicles
Working knowledge of product costing and pricing methods.

Experience Required:
More than 2 years experience of working in a Chassis Engineering position, with a broad knowledge across all Chassis disciplines.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of working in a similar or technical role within the automotive industry, with demonstrable track record of delivery.

Education Required:
It is anticipated candidates with be educated to Degree Level, or HNC/ HND with significant experience.
