The Role:
Start Date: Feb- 2014 – July 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia then moving Aug 2014 – Dec 2015 to Doha, Qatar.

Key Result Areas:
• Coordinate engineering surveillance for the detailed engineering of the Project.
• Coordinate the engineering aspects of the design in support of the project objectives.
• Involved in the development and coordination of project execution plans with specific responsibilities for interface management, lessons learned and management of change elements.
• Coordinate and/or provide timely review of contractor’s designs, Design Changes, Concession Requests, and Non-Conformance Reports.
• Coordinates and/or provide support to the procurement and construction activities.
• Supports risk management activities such as Design Risk Assessment and HAZOP.
• Assist with management of staff responsible for all technical interface issues relative to the assigned area of responsibility including the clients Venture support functions and all other third parties. Coordinate major issues as necessary.
• Monitor contractor’s performance and provide advice as necessary to make certain company’s design goals, design philosophy and specifications are achieved.
• Ensures contractor’s design documents and other submittals submittals are reviewed and approved per company contract requirements.
• Provides technical support to the procurement activities, cost and schedule efforts. Implements the use of Project Management of Change procedure, for the assigned area.
• Ensures the Risk Management Plan activities relevant to the assigned area of responsibility are carried out appropriately.

• Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highly dynamic team environment that has tight-deadlines, high pressure and visibility, requiring accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.
• Demonstrates willingness to tackle a variety of tasks in response to evolving business needs.
Communications and Working Relationships:
• Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
• Interacts effectively with management and external stakeholders, including statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other entities to discuss project practices and issues.
• Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, self-confidence and fairness.
Problem Solving/Complexity:
• Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Expected to handle all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.
• Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost effective service.
• Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has an appreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.
Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
• Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these.
• Has autonomy over scheduling and planning of own work; organizes efforts of work group to achieve overall efficiency.
• Establishes credibility with peers, subordinates and supervisors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in technical field of study (Engineering preferred)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of offshore Brownfield modifications and pipeline activities
• Fifteen (15) years specific involvement in engineering and design in a project environment including five (5) years experience with offshore facilities. Experience working on both lump sum and reimbursable projects is preferred.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for technical education.
• International experience, especially in Qatar or the Middle East, is preferred.
