The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Reporting to the departmental Group Leader - Ornamentation, and operating as a Lead Engineer the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Actively seek to improve processes associated with conformance labels
Keep abreast of Industry best practise & play a role in deployment across JLR Global locations.
Design and development of Ornamentation components, supporting Jaguar / Land Rover new or OPD programmes achieving PSW (Part Submission Warrant) in line with the programme timing.
WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System) activity to support the relevant commodity.
Ensuring all programme design solutions meet; Programme targets for cost and weight, Legal regulations & eFDVS / RMDV (Design Verification System) requirements, Optical Quality and PCPA (Premium Consumer Product Audit) requirements.
Management of the design responsible supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones
Keeping all Lead Engineer documentation and Programme reporting structures up to date including:
o Lead Engineer Meeting minutes.
o Foundation & Programme DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
o Quality History & Bill of Design.
o AIMS, eFDVS, RMDV, WERS, APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)


Skills, experience and qualifications required
Previous experience in Body Engineering / Exterior System environment would be beneficial but not essential. Candidate must have experience of project management, ideally encompassing work with suppliers or other external organisations.

A good understanding of the Foundation and Design FMEA process, Design Verification (efDVS/RMDV), WERS & Alerts, plus AIMS processes are required in conjunction with experience of Forward Model Quality strategies is desirable.

Awareness of Automotive compliance requirements very desirable.

Working understanding of vehicle build coding process is very desirable.

Working relationship with both Current & Advanced Manufacturing teams necessary.

Understanding of Market derivatives & macro business desirable.

A strong capability to interrogate & manage data and a methodical, constructive approach to problem solving is essential in this role.

Ability to lead team will be necessary including the ability to communicate with conviction at a senior level will be necessary.

An understanding of Engineering Standards and Test Procedures would be beneficial.

Knowledge of CATIA (Version 5), TCe and Digibuck, to be able to view and interrogate geometry will be a considered an advantage.

An understanding of S-DOTS (Standards authoring and approval application), Byteworx, Product Creation Standards and all of the different document types (Requirements, DVMs, Design Rules, STJLRs, TPJLRs) would be beneficial.
Skills in Microsoft Excel / Power Point / Word are necessary

Flexibility in being prepared to work at Gaydon or other locations, depending on project requirements.
