The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Company Planning department is responsible for planning, monitoring and controlling key delivery processes and activities to enable high quality and on-time delivery of JLR product programmes. A fundamental part of this process is to ensure that a compatible cross function/cross discipline whole programme delivery plan is developed and maintained during the product creation lifecycle. The Planning Leader plays a key role in planning and managing this process by ensuring that all change requests are; fully analysed, formally agreed and effectively communicated to the delivery team. As a Planning Leader you will use a cross functional approach to investigate timing plan issues, develop resolution options and agree change proposals. Understand and document any risks to on-time delivery, plus manage the team to develop mitigation plans. Run planning meetings to: communicate short-term plan objectives, resolve programme timing issues, resolve prototype part timing issues and manage programme timing risks. Use corporate standards and systems to produce high quality and accurate delivery timing plans, communications and metrics, compile and present management reports and associated metrics. Be a valued and proactive member of the programme delivery team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1) Confident communicator, analytical approach to problem solving, highly computer literate 2) Project planning/scheduling knowledge including critical path analysis. 3) Good attention to detail 4) Good organisational skills 5) Applicant needs to be self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Knowledge of the product development live cycle and manufacturing processes are mandatory
Educated to degree or equivalent level.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience of Risk management. (Preferable)
Previous experience within an engineering and manufacturing related environment is desirable. Previous experience of project management / planning is desirable.
