The Role:

• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations,
• Provide exemplary leadership to contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,
• Ensure the installation contractor has a competent organisation and a high standard of resources in-place to successfully execute the work,
• Support the contractor project execution performance and scope delivery,
• Support the plan and facilities for in-country mobilization of necessary personnel and equipment,
• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to GPO expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the Pipelines Team and the contractors,
• Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change,
• Track and manage technical risks, drive integrity and reliability through company processes such as TRAP’s, constructability reviews and FMECA’s.

Project Management
• Provide support for the preparation activities associated with the installation of the infield flowlines, the export pipelines and the landfall activities. For these particular deliveries, the Project Engineer is responsible for:
• Supporting the installation engineering and procedure development to assure timely delivery of approved procedures for mobilisation and execution of the works,
• Supporting readiness planning & co-ordination of Pre Startup Assurance Checklists prior to campaign execution,
• Managing the delivery of certain packages within the overall pipeline installation scope
• Coordination of vendor interfaces, risk management and site technical queries,
• Maintaining close contact with the Engineering Team to ensure timely approval of engineering, deviations and approval of contractor documents,
• Supporting the offshore installation and testing of the infield and export pipelines,
• Supporting the pre-commissioning activities for the infield and export pipelines,
• Supporting the offshore trenching and onshore landfall activities,
• Tracking and monitoring the schedule and activity execution for the pipelay programme,
• Tracking of the execution costs including the assessment of contractor variations, invoices and deliverables.
• As a member of the Pipelines PMT the project engineer will be required to support areas of delivery outside direct responsibility including:
• Support in the development of a competent Pipelines PMT to deliver the complete scope,
• Supporting other team members to deliver their areas of responsibility,
• Support to general management of the installation contractor, sub-contractors and vendors.

Skill Requirements:
• Exhibits understanding of company's MPcp engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality,
• Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects,
• Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result,
• A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills,
• Financial and commercial awareness,
• Self-motivated,
• Computer literate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification
• A minimum of 3 years subsea engineering and offshore installation experience
• Proven experience of contractor management and execution of offshore construction activities
