The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
PED is the vehicle attribute team responsible for managing the delivery of acceleration performance, fuel economy (CO2) and driveability attributes.
As a PED Attribute Leader within the Advanced Program Creation team, your responsibilities will include [but are not limited to]:
Managing all aspects of vehicle performance, fuel economy and driveability attribute delivery prior to hand-over to the executing team
Synthesising PED targets [including competitive futuring] & comprehension of legislative & competitive landscapes
Co-ordinating & supporting hardware selection activities [gear ratio, final drive, torque converter etc]
Supporting compliance and/or portfolio planning teams with CO2 data [will include 'what-if' studies]
Co-ordinating system & vehicle level CAE analysis to verify programme status against target
Supporting vehicle level virtual assessments to ensure programme targets have been met
Identifying & supporting benchmark testing on competitor products [full vehicle efficiency characterisation]
Generating presentations using evidence/fact based data to support related gateways

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Adept at intelligence gathering & consolidating large quantities of data into a manageable form
Experience and interest in continuous process improvement
Demonstrable evidence of motivation and resourcefulness; Ability to work autonomously without direction
Effective communication, interpersonal skills; Ability to construct wide reaching networks
Adept at influencing key stake holders to achieve consensus [negotiation skills a must]
Fully self-starting, self-motivating and pro-active
Knowledge and understanding in vehicle and engine performance/economy development and EMS/Transmission calibration
Good knowledge of MS office applications (incl Powerpoint)
Ability to 'multi-task', progressing a number of deliverables in a simultaneous fashion
Minimum of 3 years experience in the arena of fuel economy/vehicle efficiency/acceleration performance/driveability
Interest or general awareness of the CO2 competitive environment
Awareness of PED attribute development, which m

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of DFSS tools & techniques, especially in the analysis of data
Proficiency in writing Excel and/or Matlab scripts
An understanding or appreciation of CAE tools in particular related to FE/CO2
An awareness of OEM's Product Creation Systems and Verification Tracking Systems (RADV,eFDVS, RMDV, PQMS etc)
Awareness or participation in fleet CO2 compliance planning & 'what-if' scenario analysis
Experience of operating across various functions [not necessarily within engineering]
Appreciation of CAE tools, in particular in-vehicle FE/CO2
