The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The transmissions research project leader will be responsible for leading a high profile, part government funded 3 year research project. This will involve detailed planning, coordination, execution and reporting of the project, comprising of seven work packages and 9 partners (6 Industrial and 3 Academic). The successful applicant will be an experienced project manager, with the skills and confidence required to direct this complex and important £5.2m project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Advanced project management skills and experienced user of project management tools.
2. Highly motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
3. Good team working skills, with an enthusiasm for motivating partners and colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver results.
4. Good working knowledge of product pre-development processes and the importance of adhering to plans and commitments.
5. Able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of transmissions and driveline technology & it's integration in to vehicle platforms.
6. An experienced project manager with an excellent track record of delivering complex Engineering projects.
7. Leadership of a large and diverse project team to deliver
8. Delivering projects to completion on time and to a high quality
9. Experienced user of project planning tools
10. Qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline. Essential
6. Good presentation skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
1. Detailed knowledge of transmissions and driveline systems
2. Prior experience of delivering government funded projects (TSB / EPSRC etc.)
3. Prior experience of technology development processes eg; GTDS
