The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
A project engineer is required to manage all new product development requests (PDL's) within the JLR Powertrain Engines team. The role requires the engineer to read and determine the engines engineering content of each PDL coming into the department, and (working with the various functions within the engines team) to determine the necessary resources to deliver that content. The engineer will then prepare budget input sheets to reflect that content, and load this response into the factory PDL system. The engineer will maintain a database of all of the required inputs in order to support the departmental budgeting process, and also be involved in general process development activities within the engines team, relating to budget planning. This vacancy has arisen due to the resignation of the incumbent agency head in this role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the following skill set: - An overall appreciation of Petrol and Diesel engine components, particularly those that are likely to be impacted when installing engines across different vehicle platforms, or configuring to different transmission and driveline configurations - Expert knowledge is not required, but the candidate will need to know and recognise the major components that constitute a typical modern Petrol and Diesel engine. - Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written - IT literate (MS office suite) - Specifically an ability to work with and manipulate excel spread sheets - Financially numerate - Able to work on own initiative, and coordinate / direct the actions of the surrounding team. - Able to 'multi-task' and manage own work plan to ensure target deadlines for programme inputs are met. - Able to prepare and present management level summary reports as required.
2-3 years of experience and successful track record of work in a similar or related role - Eg Programme management support, programme planning, budget planning....ideally in an automotive related environment. - Experience of management report collation and presentation to senior management teams - Experience of arranging and chairing meetings
Engineering qualification (Minimum HND or equivalent). - Minimum good GCSE passes in Mathematics and English language.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in an automotive related environment - OEM or Tier 1
Automotive, Business, or Programme management related qualification.
