The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Design and Release Engineer with Powertrain Cooling. The Cooling Systems team is based at Gaydon and is part of the Power Train Systems Engineering group within Powertrain Engineering. The primary purpose of the group is to design Cooling Systems and manage the delivery of all client programs (from to ) that have Cooling System content.
Requirement for inter site travel across all clients sites. Occasional supplier visits including overseas trips

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Responsible for the delivery of Heat Exchangers and Charge Air Coolers for all client programmes. Liaise with vehicle programme teams to agree system targets (quality, function, cost, weight) and define system content. Work with Suppliers and CAD team to manage delivery of Heat Exchangers on time, to agreed targets and within budget (Piece, Tooling and D&D). Lead the quality planning activities including component FMEA and Design Rules and Standards visit supplier sites as required. Ensure compliance with all Product Creation System timing ( PCS), client Deisgn Rules ( TPJLRs) and APQP requirements. Drive Module Business Team Technical Meetings to resolve issues in the delivery of Heat Exchangers. Manage the resolution of technical issues through the AIMs system. Support System Strategy and project target conflicts to resolution. Lead the Validation Plan and ensure it meets appropriate programme gateways and monitor progress against the plan. Develop and manage Component Timing Plan

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Powertrain experience Experience of pressure charged engine systems. CFD experience. Knowledge of PTSE Component/System design including plastics. Development experience and/or awareness. Experience and working knowledge of FMA processes. Able to demonstrate ability to plan and deliver components or systems from concept to production. "
