The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Reporting to the Quality leader the successful candidate will act as technical PD interface for the Whitley based diesel Engine D&R /validation teams and act as a point of contact for any design related issues originated by or from the Engine manufacturing facility and in warranty. The role will require time spent at the Engine Manufacturing Centre (EMC) Wolverhampton, travel to other JLR sites will be required and may involve supplier visits in both UK and overseas When Engineering change is required the successful candidate will be expected to manage the change process to ensure any containments or permanent corrective actions are robust, fully validated including line trialled and agreed with all stakeholders Ensure all learning is capture and fed into the JLR Lessons learnt process

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of diesel Engine technology and function
Demonstrated ability to lead complex issues resolution.
Proven ability to influence and/or manage people.
Experience in project management, and process improvement.
Candidate must have a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives.
Full UK driving licence preferable.
Minimum of 2 years in automotive sector with diesel engine problem diagnosis and rectification.
An ability to work independently and communicate complex issues in simple to understand language.
Good verbal and written communication skills required to communicate at all levels
Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred although consideration will be given based off previous experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proven problem resolution ability using 8D/ DIMAIC tools.
Experience in engine machining and assembly processes.
