The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Advanced Product Creation (APC) is a section that operates at the very start of a vehicle¿s development. It is during this phase that the initial concepts and strategies of the vehicles are laid out. The APC Powertrain team is responsible for designing and developing all early Powertrain systems.

The team focuses on delivering programmes with technical feasibility and costs to ensure they are the right products for the business. By engaging with multiple areas across the company, the APC Powertrain team works to ensure system strategies are delivered to enable Powertrain and the client to produce robust, quality products. APC Powertrain ensures future products have the right system configurations to achieve market leading performance and competiveness. Key to this is delivering programmes on time and with the correct budget in place to support growth in future cycle plan activities.
Key principles within the team are: ¿ Support Powertrain in meeting the needs for future JLR products with technical feasibility (in terms of attribute status and design direction) and commercial readiness (meeting investment and material cost targets) ¿ Safeguard quality of new programme development and technical solution generation through disciplined adherence to the JLR Product Creation System (PCS) process ¿ Be embedded within Powertrain to ensure a fluid process from strategy to implementation ¿ Collaborative working with Vehicle and Attribute programme teams as well as other Delivery departments to ensure constructive resolution of cross-system configuration issues

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1)Experience of programme or project management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery essential
2) Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and self-motivation are the personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being able to deliver with minimum supervision.
3)Knowledge of Product Development processes and principles are essential in order to support the review and approval of feasible product actions to ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.

Experience Required:
- Experience of programme or project management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery essential
- Knowledge of Product Development processes and principles are essential in order to support the review and approval of feasible product actions to ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.
- Ability to lead the resolution of technical and process issues within a cross functional Project Team environment, including the ability to represent Powertrain within the wider engineering function.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and self-motivation are the personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Experience Preferred:
- A good level of knowledge of Powertrain systems is desirable, although training/guidance will be provided as required.
- Applicants need to be qualified to degree level, computer literate in Google, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Regular inter-site travel means a valid UK or European driving licence is preferred.

Additional Information :
The Role is principally based at Whitley, but meeting support at other Midlands facilities will be required. Candidates must have a full driving licence. Applicants MUST have proof of immediate and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK.
