Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Project Engineer - STA/Purchasing Department

The PSBO enables the Purchasing function to meet the needs of its customers through the development of systems, processes and operating controls whilst providing a central interface to key stakeholders in other functions. The Purchasing Business Office offers a unique and challenging experience with business-wide exposure and development, where the key to success is the ability to manage our internal customer's expectations, and deliver against their requirement using resources assigned against multiple and often conflicting priorities. There is also the opportunity to be involved in developing longer term Purchasing strategies and to lead the organisational development for the future. Supplier Technical Assistance is a technical organisation within Purchasing responsible for exercising leadership in the selection and development of Company supply base to provide the highest quality and manufacturing capability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The role requires business acumen, a drive for results, a passion to succeed, personal initiative and influencing skills to manage the activities with a good level of independence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create, develop and maintain departmental strategies and processes for all areas of STA
- Lead delivery and deployment of specific STA improvement projects engaging relevant business functions to ensure successful launch
- Represent STA in Company change programmes, helping to ensure the business functions develop integrated and aligned solutions
- Be the "go to" STA professional for key stakeholders, prepared to discuss our status and any support required, with a well informed and proactive position
- Take a longer term view, analysing market intelligence and benchmark data in order to ensure we achieve our ambition to be leaders in a competitive market
- Provide support to the wider Purchasing function leading resolution of operational concerns and developing solutions wh

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Six Sigma experience (ideally BB/GB qualified)
- JIT assembly experience
- Supplier development experience
- STA experience
- APQP experience
