The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Company's current Model Quality department's role is to implement, sustain and improve the Quality Operating System (QOS) for current models, jointly with Manufacturing. Thereby helping to improve product quality and achieve quality objectives. This is done by:
- Coaching and training in QOS on all Company plants.
- Acting as Subject Matter Experts for the QOS in Manufacturing and guiding the Plants.
- Carrying out Process Confirmations, identifying shortfalls and opportunities for improvement, then working with the Plants to improve and fix issues raised, with reporting and follow up to robust closure.
- Sharing and driving standardisation around lean and proven practices, with a focus on containment, correction and prevention for problem solving.
- Developing new procedures or standards for MQOS requirements, plus improving existing as required.

This particular role lies within the Procedural element of the QOS team. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing/authoring new procedures, reviewing and benchmarking existing procedures and ensuring those procedures are signed off by all of the stakeholders affected by them, in order to ensure robust deployment and adoption across ALL of the manufacturing plants within a prescribed timeframe. The QOS team itself are part of the wider Company Quality Operations function, and the role will be based at their office on the Solihull site. However, occasional travel/visits to the Companys other UK Manufacturing and Engineering Plants and Sites will be required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience within a Vehicle Manufacturing environment and/or Quality Control.
- Sound organisational skills, and an ability to work on their own with minimal supervision at times a 'can do' attitude.
- Ability to interpret some potentially complex quality requirements, and put them into a language easily understood by shop floor personnel.
- Good communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills & a degree of self-confidence.
- Must be able to build many new relationships effectively.
- Must be PC literate & the ability to use Microsoft Word particularly useful. MS Excel & Sharepoint also advantageous.
- The ability to write clearly and succinctly, and to make documents 'flow', and be easy to read and interpret by people at all levels is vital.
- Must possess the ability to liaise with many different functions concurrently in order to drive a desired outcome, and to be both tenacious but professional whilst doing it.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Some knowledge of engineering requirements / standards.
- Some knowledge of product quality.
- Some understanding or knowledge & experience of quality process audits.
- Familiarity with quality tools & systems, with the ability to analysis / interpret and communicate data

Procedure Authoring involves:
- Receiving direction on a new Quality process that needs formal definition.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to develop understanding and clarify and check the strategy e.g. aims, scope, resources, requirements for key process steps and correct interpretation.
- Writing the words, flowcharts and forms or other standard documents to suit in the normal procedure template.
- Reviewing and improving the wording in conjunction with key SMEs and users for clarity of explanation and interpretation, and updating the draft.
- Submitting for approval to the QO Manager and when OK to relevant Management or Executives for concurrence.
