Rate/Salary: Circa £35ph (Ltd) per Hour

The Company:
Our client is a leading global supplier of oil and gas metering computer systems and associated products and services to the petrochemical industry

The Role:
Senior Project Engineers & Project Engineers are responsible for interpretation of customer requirements, design, documentation, build; test, installation and commissioning of measurement and control systems for oil and gas applications and experience in fiscal metering would be an advantage.

In either role depending upon size/complexity of the project you may be assigned as the Project Lead on projects, where you will be the primary technical interface with the customer. You will lead projects or work as part of a project team, working to project plan/timescales and budgets whilst adhering to the company Quality System procedures

Duties & Responsibilities –
- Ensuring technical compliance with Customer specifications, statutory regulations and the client's quality system.
- Primary technical interface with the customer.
- Ensuring that all documentation submitted to the client is of high quality.
- Ensuring that the system is comprehensively tested prior to Customer witness tests.
- Ensuring that the system is delivered on time.
- Delegating tasks and ensuring that other project team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities to deliver the project.
- Conducting design reviews and holding team design meetings as required by the Quality procedures.
- Providing a brief weekly report with the project team to the Project Managers summarizing progress and anticipated progress, procurement, adherence to man hour budgets, identifying problem areas and any changes having commercial impact (time or cost). If the project is behind schedule this will cover the actions being taken to recover the schedule.
- Working effectively as the Project Lead (team working) to ensure that design information and requirements are communicated across the team such that the team is fully aware of the design requirements and timescales.
- Provide monthly updates of anticipated man hours to complete the project delivery.
- Identifying to the Project Manager any resource issues or the need for specialist engineering input.
- Coordination of the procurement of system components and hardware.
- Providing feedback on the performance of suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Providing feedback of ‘what went well’ and ‘what must not be repeated’ in the project delivery.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Significant experience in a project engineering role in process, control and instrumentation industry.
- Qualified to ONC minimum in electrical/electronic/control systems engineering.
- Awareness of software configuration relating to flow computing devices, HMI graphical interfaces and/or Honeywell Experion DCS systems.
- Control systems/instrumentation design experience
- Control systems/instrumentation build experience
- Control systems/instrumentation test/fault finding experience
- Technical documentation capability
- Hands on electrical workshop skills
- Commercial/budget awareness
- Computer literate
- Capable of creating/understanding electrical schematic/loop drawings
