The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The role is for a software / controls engineer to support delivery and validation of chassis control system ECUs, with particular focus on driveline control systems. The engineer will be responsible for the process of delivering a proven prototype concept into production vehicle programme(s) including conversion of simulink code productionisation, industrialisation and validation, and deployment into the target ECU across multiple vehicle programmes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of control system and software development, integration and release using Mathworks and dSpace toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow / Targetlink) for real time embedded applications
Development and execution of robust DVM/DVP, including validation techniques such as MIL, HIL and vehicle based validation
Requirements and change management, software version control
Software documentation
Strong organisational, project management and communication skills essential

Experience of software delivery through all stages of the automotive engineering software development `V cycle
Knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures
Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject.
Must be eligible to work within the UK without sponsorship
Full driving license
Willingness to support occasional travel including overseas testing

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of JLR or Ford systems and processes advantageous but not essential (e.g. PCS, GPDS, eFDVS, RMDV, AIMS)
Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and chassis electronics systems, especially driveline controls
Specification and design of discrete and state based control functions to meet functional requirements

Experience of vehicle testing on- and off-road including proving ground environments
Experience of component, system and vehicle level issue investigations
Experience of CAN bus, automotive diagnostics and related system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.)
Management of offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers for software coding and integration tasks
