The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Our client's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), operates as a nimble business within a business and is focused towards increasing profitability through leveraging their customers desire to personalize their vehicles.

Key strategic elements include:
Pushing the boundaries of the our client's brands to create high premium niche halo performance & luxury vehicles.
Developing a range of option packs to enhance the sporting and lifestyle attributes of our vehicle range
Enhancing the premium customer experience through vehicle personalisation and exclusivity

As a Project Engineer within our client's SVO division you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the successful development, testing and introduction of new vehicle accessory systems and components across a number of our new and exciting vehicle programmes. You will need to coordinate all necessary actions within the division working across functional areas such as engineering, manufacturing, finance, sales and marketing, as well as liaise with other client divisions and external suppliers.

You will need to lead the resolution of cross-functional issues and report the project status to management on a regular basis via a range of communication channels including project team meetings and gateway status papers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of engineering principles relevant to the design, development, testing and manufacture of products within vehicle accessories.
Excellent knowledge of systems and tools used to develop engineering solutions e.g. CAD, CAE, FMEA, DFA.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills essential to liaising with a number of internal and external parties, and taking a leading role in coordinating a wide range of work tasks.
PC Fluent (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience of working in a technically biased project engineer role.
Experience of working in a similar or technical role within the automotive industry, with demonstrable track record of delivery.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products.
Excellent knowledge of product development systems used in the automotive industry.
Excellent knowledge of quality tools used in industrial applications e.g.. DVP, FMEA, DFA,
Robustness Working knowledge of issue tracking and release systems e.g.. BOM, AIMS, WERS
Knowledge of vehicle homologation requirements
Working knowledge of project planning tools e.g. MS Project Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly tooling methods and lead-times.
Good working knowledge of materials used in modern vehicles ( e.g.. synthetic textiles, leather, veneers, plastics, metals, composites, foils and paint).
Working knowledge of product costing and pricing methods
