The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Department Chassis SST (Suspension Systems Tuning) department is part of Chassis Product Development and responsible for delivery of Struts, Dampers, Spring Systems & Air Suspension. This Role is as a Lead Engineer - on a vehicle line of the D7A Platform The role. The successful applicant will be engaged as a Suspension Systems Tuning - Lead Engineer, and be responsible for delivery of the associated component designs, from Concept Confirmation to Production.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the department interface with the Chassis Program Team & support the programs as required.
Interface with suppliers, engineering and other JLR departments.
Ensure suppliers & engineers achieve correct levels of design, quality & timing commitments.
Ensure agreed Cost, Weight, Resource & Engineering Targets for robust Gateway Delivery.
Technical ownership - Lead resolution of SST AIMS, design & quality issues.
Appreciation of research/future strategy content.
Meeting/review coverage - CPE reviews - VIT/PST as required - Package reviews - Weekly module sessions - APC tech reviews - Manufacturing Deep Dives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills, experience and qualifications required. Use and knowledge of standard JLR or global quality tools. Able to work with minimal supervision, work with a team and consistently deliver on time. Ability to deal with change as the product develops. Able to work with all areas of the business and take the lead when required, to broker agreements and deliver results. Able to prepare and present out a status on key issues, as required. Experience/understanding of Suspension Systems Tuning components. Experience/understanding of Vehicle Dynamics, development & sign off. Experience/knowledge of vehicle and component rig testing.
Degree Educated or proven experience in this area

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of JLR engineering standards and processes. (PCDS, AIMS ,RMDV, WERS etc.) Black Belt/ Green Belt Training.
