The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
A Structures Project Engineer will have direct responsibility for Suspension Structure component design and delivery. These include knuckles, control arms, hubs and bearings. Key requirement of job role
1. Agree component/system targets (stiffness, strength, etc) with CAE team and attribute areas
2. Develop component CAD with JLR CAD designers within available package to meet component targets for function, cost and weight.
3. Work with purchase team to manage supplier nomination process.
4. Manage supplier delivery of components to agreed cost, timing and quality targets.
5. Achieve all program milestone engineering deliverables

Skills Required:
Strong communication/teamworking/project management skills. Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. PC (MS Office) literacy. Robust practical knowledge of engineering principles.

Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge of Failure Mode Avoidance Quality tools.

Experience Required:
Automotive engineering design/development Track record of successful project management and on time delivery.

Experience Preferred:
Design experience of cast and/or forged aluminium and steel components. Experience of Programme Management tools/Product Creation System (PCS)/GPDS. Current use of WERS, AIMS and other engineering delivery systems.

Education Required:
HNC/D or equivalent automotive experience in the above field.

Education Preferred:
Mechanical Engineering Degree
