The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), operates as a nimble 'business within a business' and is focused towards increasing profitability through leveraging our customers' desire to personalize their vehicles. Special Vehicles Operations (SVO) are searching for an all-round Quality Engineer to come and join us on a very exciting journey, towards a world class leading facility producing the performance flagship models. The workshop currently works on Armoured Vehicles, Autobiography Blacks, Limited Editions, Bespoke, Royal & Diplomatic, Premium Editions and Engineering Development vehicles. Going forward it will be more centred on customer options for performance enhancement, sport designs and personalisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to come and join the team at the start of a very exciting transformation stage. We are becoming a much larger workshop function that is essentially the manufacturing hub for Special Vehicles. This in itself equates to elements of an entire factory from Trim & Final, Off Track Repair, Quality Inspection, MP&L, Launch, Batch & Hold and up front manufacturing buy in to PDLs all under one roof. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a combination of Quality, Manufacturing and Launch experience to join an evolving department. The role would be part of the existing Operations team who are relocating to a brand new facility in November at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, recently announced to the press as Special Operations Oxford Road. This will include a state of the art customer facing workshop, with a VIP lounge and a private area for SVOs highly sensitive projects / development work.

Key Tasks: -
* Working with the SVO Workshop Quality team Data analysis and supporting root cause analysis, containment action and permanent corrective action
* Liaising with all issues owners from issue identification in SVO, to agreeing ownership and the use of Practical * Problem Solving tools Supporting the SVO team to identify and fix the Top Quality issues and reducing the overall defects per vehicle line Developing processes and procedures and working with current processes to improve all levels of quality
* Working with the Core manufacturing teams across all sites on repeat quality issues
* Working with Quality Group on customer perception audits and launch activities
* Liaising with suppliers on arts defects
* Agreeing targets and standards with all elements of the business

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Excellent communication & team building skills Range of experience in a quality role and quality focused organisation
* Experience of applying problem solving tools & techniques such as CCAR's, 8D's, Cause & Effect .
* PC Fluent (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Candidates should be educated to Degree Level, or HNC/ HND with significant experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products.
* Knowledge of product development systems used in the automotive industry.
* Knowledge of issue tracking and release systems e.g. BOM, AIMS, WERS
* Experience of working in a similar role within the automotive industry, with demonstrable track record.
