The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the SVO vehicle and engineering teams on programmes in the pre- phase.
* Ensure high level program targets and aspirations are in place including relevant statement of intent and vignettes
* Ensure the core architecture and systems are specified, agreed and capable of delivering these targets including any unique SVO requirements
* Responsible for system architecture 1 pagers and red book inputs for line fit and accessory programmes
* Lead technical resolution of cross functional issues in the early phase to ensure the correct balance of customer requirements & business needs.
* Liaise with all relevant Engineering areas, Quality, Purchase, Marketing, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle Attribute Teams, Product Strategy, Manufacturing and Finance across the company to compile robust component assumptions, costs and weight data to develop the requirements and features chosen for future products
* Develop Pre vehicle concepts and innovation to a level of maturity.
* Support the engineering teams in the creation of system strategies for SVO products.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
This is a high visibility and challenging role, and key to the role is ensuring the vehicles we develop meet the brand targets and delight customers. As such; demonstrable record of delivering complex engineering projects against time and budget constraints. It is essential that the individual has worked in an engineering environment with experience of whole vehicle architectures, in addition to having: -
* Ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives.
* High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimal supervision.
* Excellent knowledge of whole vehicle architectures. Essential.
* CAD skills - Teamcentre engineering and Vis-Mockup. Catia V5 would be advantageous.
* Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure.
* Good leadership and influencing skills
* The ability to manage complex technical issues is essential to balance the often conflicting needs of the business, within project timing constraints.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Whole vehicle programme and engineering management and launch experience.
* Specific process knowledge ideally gained in a Product Development environment.
* Knowledge of key manufacturing process and how they are integrated to the vehicle development process
* Previous APC experience would be an advantage including Pre-PS deliverables.
* Experience of virtual series builds
* Knowledge of project delivery & change management processes including GPDS, AIMS, WERS and eFDVS.
