The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Working to ensure that our customers benefit from the highest levels of personal protection whilst in their vehicles. With a range of Optional features to further enhance their comfort or protection, e.g. emergency lights, sirens, fresh air systems, on board fire extinguisher systems, etc.

The purpose of the role is to own all aspects of the Armoured options products. Taking programmes from pre KO investigations right through to Job 1 delivery of fully Engineered and signed-off features and components. Utilising industry standards where they exist and developing standards of your own where they don't. Also working alongside our colleagues in the Armour MS&S team to identify further options products which we could offer to our customers after a suitable development regime. The successful candidate will have the support of the current Armour CAD team and the ability to outsource packages of work/testing as required. Developing good links with all of your suppliers of components, test services, etc. will be vital if you are to deliver the best components at the best costs.

Skills Required:
A wide knowledge of a range of Engineering disciplines.
Experience in component/system delivery and development.
Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 or Digi-Buck / Vis-Mock-up Plus Tce
Knowledge of engineering release and change management systems.
Experience of problem solving tools and able to lead problem resolution initiatives.
Good communication and presentation skills to all levels essential.
Data analysis and PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project - essential
Experienced in WERS, AIMs, eFDVS/RMDV, APQP and PSW processes - essential
Good team player/leader, who is self-motivated to deliver good quality products - essential
Experience of similar systems within a Civilian/Military vehicle environment would be a strong advantage.

Skills Preferred:
Excellent knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products.
Excellent knowledge of product development systems used in the automotive industry.
Excellent knowledge of quality tools used in industrial applications e.g.. DVP, FMEA, DFA,
Robustness Working knowledge of issue tracking and release systems e.g.. BOM, AIMS, WERS
Knowledge of vehicle homologation requirements
Working knowledge of project planning tools e.g. MS Project
Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly tooling methods and lead-times.
Good working knowledge of materials used in modern vehicles
Working knowledge of product costing and pricing methods.

Experience Required:
More than 2 years experience of working in Automotive or related Engineering across a broad range of disciplines.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of working in a similar or technical role within the automotive industry, with demonstrable track record of delivery.

Education Required:
It is anticipated candidates with be educated to Degree Level, or HNC/ HND with significant experience.
