The Company:
Our client, a major oil and gas operator, is seeking a Project Engineer for one of their major projects.

The Role:
1. Responsible for assuring in support of Facilities Technical Assurance that the facilities design, specification, procurement, construction, testing, installation, and commissioning meets the project technical requirements by providing assurance inputs, coordination, reviews related to specifications and business unit expectations. Assure Contractors and Suppliers deliverables meet the requirements and such that the first oil is achieved on schedule and within budget (shared team responsibility).
2. Works to assure that the project facility design is safe, operable, maintainable, cost-effective, constructible, and reliable.
3. Takes a lead role in coordinating cross-discipline engineering, project team functional assurance and systems engineering issues to ensure final “wholistic” design alignment. Project technical assurances to be coordinated include topsides, flow assurance, hull, mooring, risers, producing and offloading operations, subsurface, subsea, drilling, HSE, commercial, construction, installation, and HUC. Works closely with Assurance Interface and Risk (AIR) team and with Technical Assurance Manager.
4. Plans, coordinates, supports, and/or participates in various project execution activities such as Design Assurance process, Cost Estimate and Schedule input review, Cost and Schedule Assurance activities, IPA benchmarking efforts, Value Improving Practices, preparation and review of Decision Support Packages, Project Execution Plans, Project Status Reporting, PEER reviews, technical workshops, bid package reviews, systems problem solving. Takes lead coordination role for Design Assurance activities.
5. Serves as facilities project team troubleshooter to work and resolve critical technical issues that threaten successful project execution.
6. Leads/assists project team efforts to effectively engage and manage stakeholders through reporting, meetings, presentations, preparation of decision papers, workshops, etc.
7. Demonstrated project execution experience on large complex projects in Phase 3 and Phase 4, preferably involving FPSOs and Subsea systems. Has a broad technical knowledge of related upstream facilities design and construction requirements and can coordinate the various disciplines required to design, construct, transport, install, and commission these facilities. Experience in overseeing, coordinating and/or leading the technical assurance and/or design efforts of multi-discipline teams that interface during project design and execution (e.g.- process, electrical, I&C, structural, turret, subsea, pipelines, flow assurance, hull and mooring, etc.).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BS preferred or equivalent experience BSc (UK)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Desirable Work Experiences:
1) Recent MCP work
2) FPSO's and projects with subsea components
3) UK regulatory environment and design codes, standards, and practices
4) Fabrication yard and installation experience
5) Precommissioning, commissioning, and start up
6) Coordinating/leading multi-discipline design efforts
7) Proven ability to communicate effectively with multi-functional teams and FEED and Detailed Engineering contractors to ensure engineering and stakeholder interfaces are properly managed. Works proactively to ensure cross discipline engineering interface points are properly managed to ensure a fully integrated and seamless project design (i.e.-. process to work with mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, marine systems, subsea, turret, subsea, hull, etc. at design interface points)
8) Experience with formal processes to assess safety and environmental risks, and implement solutions
