The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The validation engineer is responsible for delivery of the relevant DV activity for engine programmes to support engineering sign-off. They will lead specific development / durability activities, feeding the results back to the relevant customers ensuring these are delivered on time. They also support planning activity for future programmes. The engineer will have responsibility for conducting engine functional and durability validation, and durability sign off for all projects under the direct responsibility of the team. This requires a good understanding of engine design, development, calibration and problem solving. It is a day to day hands on role and the candidate must have test experience which reflects this.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate should have first hand experience of engine testing combined with a strong working knowledge of engines and their associated systems. They need to be self driven, able to work alone or as part of a team, and have an understanding of Product Development processes, GPDS principles, instrumentation and test facilities. 1) Plan and conduct engine durability and functional tests to support overall development and program requirements 2) Maintain data quality and test result integrity and repeatability 3) Plan, manage and deliver various tests to a tight time scales. 4) Demonstrate experience in test & development, with experience of combustion, performance, economy, durability of engines. 5) Demonstrate ability to analyse data & formally present & report on the outcome of tests. 6) Demonstrate ability to confidently present to senior management & others. 7) A reasonable flexible approach to work beyond normal hours and to support others as required
Good analytical skills & PC

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience of Engine and Powertrain systems are considered desirable. A knowledge of vehicle systems would be beneficial.
