The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Systems Engineer (Features Development) will be responsible for the detailed definition of customer requirements for a range of new vehicle features and technologies.
This will include feature objective definition, competitor benchmarking (automotive and consumer products), use-cases analysis, detailed requirements development, evaluation and iteration of solutions.
The features are categorised as follows:-
1. HMI (Human-Machine Interface) strategy features
2. Comfort & Convenience features
3. Vision/Parking/Manoevering (inc. cameras)
4. ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance Systems) & special features

The Systems Engineering process will be used to develop and administer the definition of feature requirements.
This role will involve working as part of a cross-functional team, mainly with System-Owners (who are responsible for defining the technical solutions to deliver the feature requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good general understanding of automotive engineering, especially in the premium sector.
Understanding of good practice principles for user-controls design.
Able to imagine and evaluate customer use-cases, taking account of the global diversity of JLR's customers (i.e. demographics, cultures, languages, lifestyles, expectations, future trends).
Able to communicate customer requirements in objective (measurable) terms.
Able to conduct research (e.g. web-based investigation, physical benchmarking).
Able to analyse data (basic statistical understanding) Clear and concise communicator.
Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.
Research and development of customer requirements.
Creation of formal documentation.
Working as part of a cross-fun

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of Systems Engineering (although training in specific process will be given)..
Interpretation of customer quality data (e.g. JD Power). An understanding of logical modelling
