The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
The Vehicle Safety Test Laboratory (VSTL) is responsible for the delivery of safety related physical testing in support of engineering functions within PD. Data is collected from instrumentation via data aquisition systems, analysed and returned to the requester in an appropriate format. High speed digital cameras are used to capture and analyse high speed events. VSTL forms the foundation of the Vehicle Safety Testing verification process. A variety of test rigs, environmental and vehicle based tests are controlled and co ordinated by the department covering legislative and in house standards. . The position is for a Safety Test Engineer Body Test project engineer the main duties will be as follows:
o Plan & Deliver Safety related body system test activities in accordance with legal and Company test standards within programme timing and specification.
o Liaise with the workshop team to deliver fit for purpose test rigs / test sample set up.
o Manage test set up, implementation and delivery of the test and document with an official test report.
o Interface with PD customers / legislative authorities to ensure requirements are identified and customer expectations are met.

Skills Required:
o Knowledge of data acquisition and analysis systems.
o Ability to construct timing plans and to deliver within given deadlines (as agreed within test requests).
o Good IT skills (MS Office).
o The individual needs to be flexible with drive and motivation to achieve using own initiative.
o Ability to interpret and implement company and legal test procedures methodically.
o Confidence, commitment and enthusiasm with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Skills Preferred:
o Knowledge of FMVSS 201U preparation and testing.
o Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience Required:
oGood knowledge of working with calibrated mechanical and electrical transducers.
o Familiar with Static, Durability & Environmental testing at component / sub system level. o Knowledge of data acquisition and control systems.
o Ability to construct timing plans and to deliver within given deadlines (as agreed within test requests).
o Good IT skills (MS Office).
o The individual needs to be flexible with drive and motivation to achieve using own initiative.
o Ability to interpret and implement company and legal test procedures methodically.
o Confidence, commitment and enthusiasm with strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Qualified to Degree level (preferable but not essential) and experienced in relevant area.

Education Required:
o Candidates qualified to degree level in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
