The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source a Project Engineer - Water Development to be a member of the project Technical Integration Team.

• Attractive Brisbane CBD location
• Work directly for an LNG project owner
• Long term 12 to 24 months contract

The Technical Integration Team is responsible for delivering water management and surface facilities for the company. Working for the project owner you will coordinate the engineering and construction elements of the project. Generally, you will oversee and monitor the the various stages of project development and delivery.

• Ensure the delivery of all engineering and construction requirements within their realm of responsibility (including commercial)
• Provide an assessed response by analysing, diagnosing and using professional judgement
• Coordinate the delivery of low complexity, approved capital projects to the sanctioned cost, schedule and performance criteria
• Contribute to the project strategy, project execution plan, contract strategy and management systems for project delivery and ensure they get ownership from within the asset, partners and the project team
• Interface with project Technical Integration – Water Development teams to ensure timely agreement on deliverables
• Contribute to the effective management of project budgets and schedules
• Ensure the effective implementation of project and financial control systems to monitor project progress against target, financial management (cash forecasts and AFEs) and change control systems, enabling appropriate action to be taken in a timely manner
• Contribute to the identification of risks and eliminate or implement mitigation measures
• Implement an agreed reporting system and format to the satisfaction of project stakeholders
• Ensure the project undertakes adequate quality assurance for internal deliverables (e.g. through client VAF and functional reviews) and for work by contractors
• Assist with the preparation of key approvals e.g. contract awards, revised project approvals etc for the approval authority
• Manage project interfaces and relationships with partners and key stakeholders within engineering and construction disciplines
• Ensure project lessons learned are fed back to Asset stakeholders for the benefit of future projects
• Ensure readiness for commissioning and handover is planned and agreed with the operations function
• Point of contact for resolving issues pertaining to area of responsibility

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical professional with proven experience in engineering and construction disciplines and with delivery of projects
• Varied experience of EPC or EPCM contracts
• Experience of project control systems and procedures supported by current software applications e.g. Excel, MS Project, @Risk, Primavera P6
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Has verifiable performance and delivery working as a team member through two or more responsible project assignments
• Ability to apply appropriate technical standards to deliver technical and execution requirements
• Understanding of discipline interfaces, construction activities and the project development and delivery process needed to enable quality control of contractor technical work, and ensure appropriate techniques and standards are applied and improvement opportunities are realised
• Ability to apply HSSE principles across all project technical activities
• Understands the impact of strategy

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Client-side experience,
• Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution or equivalent
• Good understanding of at least one of the Company’s technologies e.g. E&P/LNG
