The Company:
An international operator in the Oil & Gas industry

The Role:
Based in the topsides engineering design contractor’s office in London, the role will support the Engineering team in managing the multi-discipline scope of work and interface with construction, commissioning and installation work scopes.

• Co-ordinate the techncial engineering activities of the topsides design contractor in the preparation of the design, deliverables for the Wellhead Platform. Monitor and control the progress of the design deliverables, costs and schedule performance.
• Ensure that the engineering deliverables and supporting studies are issued in a timely manner to support the fabrication and offshore construction schedules.
• Identify, minimise and develop hook-up scope of work associated with the Wellhead Platform.
• Maintain the Basis of Design requirements for the Wellhead Platform through the Detailed Design phase.
• Liaise and manage the interface with key stakeholders (Drilling, Operations) in the design of the Wellhead Platform to ensure a safe and functional design is achieved.
• Liaise and manage the technical interfaces with other design contractors, namely; jacket designer and subsea/pipelines EPIC contractor.
• Liaise with third party safety consultants to ensure findings of formal safety assessment studies and reviews are incorporated into the design of the Wellhead Platform.
• Liaise and manage the technical interface with the Wellhead Platform construction team and fabrication contractor.
• Liaise and provide technical support to the interface with the Installation Contractor.
• Review and assist in coordinating interface between designers and DnV (Independent Verification Body) to ensure that the Project’s Performance Standards objectives are achieved.
• Visit fabrication site(s) to perform site inspections to ensure design requirements are achieved through the fabrication phase.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
o Vast experience in a design engineering role on major oil and gas development projects.
o Experience of working to a Verification Scheme for a UK North Sea Project preferable.

The job holder must have proven:
o The ability to work in a team environment.
o Good time management skills to meet deadlines.
o Knowledge of design practice and requirements for UK North Sea installations.
o Understanding of role of IVB.
o Understanding of interfaces between designers, fabricator, and commissioning teams.
o Familiarity with project controls techniques, including CTRs, schedules and progress measurement.
