The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The client's Contractor's Waste Representative will be the main point of contact for the assurance of duty of care for contractors on Non-Manufacturing Sites. The client's Contractor's Waste Representative will provide a liason with Contractor's completing works on site, as even in CDM zones the client must not knowingly permit Duty of Care to be availed. Duty of care requires: Physical visits to contractors sites; disposal/recycling facilities; Transportation surveillance; Legislative checks and document auditing; EA checks; 2nd and 3rd Tier supplier legislative audits. In addition assistance in pollution prevention and risk assessment to prevent pollution. Pollution occurs when substances released to water, land or to air have a harmful effect on our environment. Contractors on site provides risk, therefore management of contractors ensures pollution prevention methods are in place for all on the client's Non-Manufacturing Sites.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Key responsibilities of the job include: - Helping to formulate efficient and effective waste disposal plans and strategies - Liaising with waste and contractor companies - Managing outside contractors - Ensuring that contractors waste storage/disposal/handling/transportation legislation is complied with. - Centralised process - Aids implementation of an electronic shipper process - Prompt access to controlled information about waste stream shipments off site - Process creation for ensuring that all contractors are inducted on their requirements for the management of waste on site. - A means of recording the induction in a central location accessed by all. - A means of easily identifying if an individual has been inducted e.g. green hard hat sticker or pass that is carried on a person at all times. - A contractors legal responsibilities. - Management of contractors skips on site inclusive of the site specific instructions or the client's policies and procedures relating to waste and th

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
There will be strategic and supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge of appropriate environmental legislation is a bonus however this can be taught if the applicant has the correct skills.
