The Role:
A new contract position has arisen for a Project Engineering Lead to act as primary engineering point of contact and coordination for all Project Engineering and A&OI activities. Provide direction to the project integrated team to ensure that all work scope is completed per design and comply with Regulations, the Statement of Requirements, Basis of Design and company standards.

The Lead Engineer is responsible for:
• Managing the on-shore based engineering and document control teams ensuring
• Coordination of all related activities
• Technical & safety integrity of design and design modifications during execution
• Compliance with the Project Management of Change procedures
• Engineering interfaces with procurement
• Follow-on engineering interfaces with QA and construction.
• Review and approval of contractor administrative requests.

The position will involve:
• Bring specialist skills in key engineering discipline and is competent to supervise all technical discipline work associated with the offshore implementation scope of work.
• Supervise company/contractor design team activities related project design; responsible for timely delivery and integrity of design, quality and accuracy of design work and review of shop drawings/construction reports as required. Advises the team on correct design procedures and specifications.
• Implements Technical Query Procedure and coordinates timely response to all engineering related site queries.
• Authorises technical change orders & coordinates specialist discipline review.
• Ensures that all engineering design changes initiated offshore are communicated to the company’s engineering office and approved through project Management of Change procedures.
• Reviews all constructability/engineering suggestions by Operations team and ensures implementation of all approved suggestions.
• Coordinates overall development and delivery of work packages in support of offshore execution.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experienced Engineer (10-15 years) with offshore oil and gas facility experience.
• Experience of FEED and detailed design contracts and working as part of a multi-discipline team.
• Experience of working on fabrication sites and offshore facilities.
• Ability to build a strong relationship with key contractor personnel.
• Strong communications and networking skills.
• Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated and self reliant
• Problem solver
• Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude.
• Planning and organisation competency.
• Ability to make rational decisions when under pressure.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline
• Communications – ability to function as part of a dispersed Project Management Team, maintains clear understanding of scope
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a multi-disciplined/multi-cultural team
• 10+ years projects / engineering experience in upstream oil and gas sector
• Experience of the needs of other Disciplines including home office engineering and general fabrication.
• Working knowledge of industry design and equipment standards: BS, API, ANSI/ASME, NFPA, etc.
• Knowledge of Document Management Systems as they apply to Projects.
• Current survival and medical certificates are required for offshore travel.
