The Role:
As an integral key member of the Projects Team the Project Financial Analyst will be responsible for the financial performance management of the Capital Projects team, including monthly and quarterly forecasting updates, and ensure deliverables are in accordance with contractual and company requirements.The Project Financial Analyst will understand budget/plan assumptions and performance of business against this budget/plan and support management reporting, as they relate to the Asset.The Project Financial Analyst reports to the Project Controller within the Projects Team with direct responsibility for performance management reporting and forecast for Capital Projects.

The role is responsible for assisting the Projects Controller in reporting on the financial performance, planning and forecasting activities across capital projects. In particular the role will focus on project and departmental forecasting coordination, finance performance reporting on project activity and developing/ implementing processes to meet all forecasting and planning obligations for the Trinidad Asset to ensure operational readiness for ongoing project activity.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Work with the Projects and Finance team to improve the project information process across the business to ensure information requirements are met• Compiles timely and accurate project fortnightly and monthly forecasting • Assist with improvements to end of month reporting and analysis processes to improve information available to the business, reporting teams and Group Finance.• Participate in process improvement across the projects team• Liaison with the SAP & Unifier teams regarding system changes and project specific requirements• Lead in the reconciliation of project budgets to amounts reports• Preparation variance analysis of project forecasts to actual• Preparation of detailed project budgets and estimates including update of Project module within SAP BPC •Preparation of reports and presentations on the project costs, methodologies etc where required• Providing required detail to Project Managers• Provide audit and financial support as needed.• Support the Asset accountants

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Accounting qualifications with associated tertiary qualifications• Further post graduate qualifications highly regarded • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications •Excellent time management• Excellent written and verbal communication• Ability to learn quickly• Attention to detail• Ability to work without supervision• Excellent report writing skills• Ability to communicate effectively with people including staff contractors, JV parties and external stakeholders
