The Role:
Organisation Structure
• The Forwarding Officer Industrial Projects falls hierarchically under the leadership of the department.
• The Forwarding Officer Industrial Projects receives operational direction of the department manager / Coordinator / Supervisor.
• The IP Forwarding Officer does not issue guidance.

The purpose of the function
Preparing shipments in accordance with agreements with the customer and control. This officer is specifically used for the handling of project cargo.

Result Areas

1. Prepare Shipments and regulate the implementation.
The accordance with the wishes of the customer and treat internal capabilities within the mission at a maximum profit.

Core activities:
• Performs bookings for transportation of shipments in the system.
• Maintains contacts with suppliers of transport services (such as shipping companies, carriers, customs, airlines, rail companies, et cetera.); concerning prices and transportation, considering options, and then combines these operational purchasing agreements with the relevant supplier, taking into account the guidelines.
• Does different purchasing arrangements, for example, special transports, advance with the supervisor as, the guidelines within the department.
• Controls transportation accordance with national and international regulations and in accordance with internal guidelines.
• Checks booking note accuracy, used in particular conditions ..
• Indicates, if applicable, written instructions to delcarant for customs clearance.
• Carry out, if possible, standard customs formalities.
• Resolves operational problems and irregularities and ensures the quality of the shipment.
• Sets the file and creates further administrative processing.
The handling of claims and send them to the claims department (if applicable).

2. Customer information
The timely and accurate information to customers.

Core activities:
• Confirms agreements and informs customers on the progress of the operational process, in accordance with internal guidelines.

3. Commerce
The independent unfolding of acquisition and sales activities.

Core activities:
• Is responsible for the commercial relationship with the customer. Inside Sales can here do not support, given the specific / unique character of this business.
• Is at file level responsible for results through proper procurement and establish sales rate.

4. Administrative acts perform.
The administrative handling, so that files are complete, correct and timely to the administration or other stakeholders are submitted and are informed for the billing process.

Core activities:
• Makes independent agreements on procurement with suppliers.
• Is responsible for creating and sending quote and follow them.
• Negotiates file completely independent off. Operational, billing technical, administrative and aftersales.
• Performs all expected costs in the system.
• Does the complete billing itself.

Profile of the function
• Bachelor degree.
• Several years knowledge of logistics processes; specifically in the area of project cargoes.
• Extensive years of experience in the broadest sense of the transport, especially shipping & project cargo.
• Experience with sea- and air chartering and knowledge of charter conditions.
• Extensive knowledge in the field of customs and related documentation.
• Knowledge of applying computer applications.

Specific job characteristics and skills
• Social skills for maintaining contacts with external parties.
• Strong commercial establishment.
• Oral and written expression skills in Dutch and English
• Cost-conscious and result-oriented, in order to transport shipments at a maximum result.
• Integer arithmetic and are strong to carefully deal with large amounts
• Problem solving ability to solve problems in arranging transport.
• Highly accurate, when making arrangements operational and financial matters.

Onerous working conditions
• The regular performance of work under great time pressure.
• The risk of failure is high throughout the entire project. These high costs, special agreements with global clients.

Appointment criteria
(For) Training
• Relevant MBO / HBO training.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in the transport sector, in the field of Project Forwarding in particular.
• Experience with sea and air chartering
• Experience in the field of customs and related documentation.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Spanish speaking, Oil and Gas experience
