The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Project HSE Specialist for a 2 year opportunity based in Naples, Florida.
The Project HSE Specialist will be assigned to the Highlands Ethanol Project which is designing, and building a large-scale ethanol facility and farm infrastructure associated with energy grass supply in Highlands County, Florida. The Project HSE Specialist will provide HSSE support through the construction phase of the agriculture project.

The Role:
Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the Project HSSE Manager, identifies and ensures alignment of HSSE plan with all local, applicable legal requirements.
• Ensures that HSSE specifications and requirements are effectively integrated into all project activities throughout the life of the project.
• Ensures planning and implementation of all required Health services and programs for project and all related personnel – including establishment and operation of qualified medical facilities, Industrial Hygiene programs, etc.
• Ensures adequate environmental planning related to project, and is responsible for timely Environmental reporting to local regulatory agencies.
• Maintains an appropriate and comprehensive HSSE management system for the project, and skillfully translates all identified HSSE requirements for the project into specific compliance tasks in a manner that can be understood and implemented at all required operational levels.
• Works with engineering / construction contractor(s) to establish an effective HSSE management system, programs and processes for construction.
• Ensures adequate Emergency Response Strategies and Plans during construction and commissioning.
• Establish and support HSSE training program.
• Ensures appropriate HSSE training for those involved in the project including follow-up on training effectiveness.

• Experience with construction for agricultural or large scale civil works is an advantage.
• 5 + years of HSSE construction experience.
• Experience in Behavioral Safety Processes e.g. STOP program or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Inherently Safer Design Principles and Philosophies, Fire and Gas Detection, Fire Protection, ESD, etc.
• Experience in Health and Industrial Hygiene programs: incl. noise, MSDS, etc.
