The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
Main Accountabilities:
• Lead a team of about 50 engineers in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of the integrated control systems.
• Act as the main technical interface with the client and ensure the coordination of the work within the team (Telecom, ICSS, Integrated Operation, System Build) and with the oversea offices.
• Ensure that the engineered solution is compliant with the company practices and procedures and meet the customer requirement as indicated in the User Requirement Specification.
• Identify scope changes to the project manager and ensure the impact in terms of cost/schedule are assessed and communicated.
• Coordinate the resolution of technical queries coming from the customer, from site or within the team.
• Manage meetings with the customer and participate in meetings with the company management.
• Manage the engineering resources required so that the project is completed in a time and cost effective manner.
• Develop engineering estimates against specifications for bids received from potential clients.
• Assist with technical sales presentations, bid estimation & clarifications.
• Mentor team members in procedures and standards ensuring that common solutions and practices are implemented.
• Identify opportunities to improve standards and procedures to save costs or time.

• Capable of writing/reviewing all ICSS related technical documents produced during the lifecycle of the project from design to the commissioning (e.g. Functional Design Specification, Test Specification etc)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent in an Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline, Chartered Engineer would be desirable.
•Full driving license.
•Flexible working hours and the ability to travel.
•Extensive experience in the design, implementation, testing and commissioning of integrated control systems in the oil and gas industry.
•Experienced at working on large scale international projects.
•Proven team management experience of more than 20 engineers.
• Proven customer facing experience.
•Planning & Scheduling of work to meet deadlines.
•Excellent Leadership, project control, communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
•Sound Telecom knowledge and understanding of System servers and Integrated Operation would be a plus.
•Familiar with current national and international engineering standards.
