Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

Which is where you join the journey. Lead Engineer Auto Trans Gearbox & Ancillary Engineer - Main role is as a Lead Engineer delivering primarily an Auto transmission application and associated ancillary components. Activities will be delivery from concept through to launch, including detail design definition, packaging, supplier liaison, VPM updates & maintenance, virtual build support, WERS releases, Quality process including DFMEA & DVP completion, ESO testing, PSW and Launch preparation with suppliers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Automatic Transmissions knowledge and understanding
2. Project Management / Delivery of engineering components and systems
3. HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering

Component definition Design concept skills. Quality tools such as DFMEAs, DVPs, Robustness. Issue resolution techniques such as Six sigma, 8D. Project management skills. Cost and weight analysis including VFM (Value For Money). Supplier management experience, Design and Release including BOM change management skills. DV testing and engineering sign off experience. Production readiness knowledge and Manufacturing awareness. An HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering. Good understanding of transmission related component function/design and an awareness of Powertrain systems. Excellent communication skills. Good PC skills including Microsoft Office and MSProject Full driving license

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
5 years Automotive experience. Knowledge of problem resolution techniques. Knowledge component quality deliverables and processes.
