The Company:
Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
The Project Lead/Engineer leads the engineering, procurement, and construction activities for projects within Company and the Projects and Modifications Team. This position works with an integrated team to define project scope, deliver estimate assurance, cost and schedule control, project execution planning, and risk analysis. The Project Lead/Engineer is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient execution of all phases of the project. This role is Anchorage based with periodic trips to the North Slope to support project communication and development activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develops and executes projects consistent with Company’s Capital Value Process (CVP) per the Minimum Conditions of Satisfaction.
• Leads front end loading engineering and procurement and assists with construction activities for projects.
• Delivers successful execution of projects, on time and within budget.
• Develops, maintains, and reviews overall project schedules, milestone, progress reports, and cost estimates for all project activities. Forecasts milestone competition, resources and provides cash flow projections.
• Develops and communicates project execution plans to the key stakeholders.
• Ensure completion of quantitative risk analysis and qualitative risk assessments at appropriate project stages using Company specific tools, and other risk evaluation methods. Ensures that risks and opportunities are identified.
• Implements project change management process. Manages contingency progression/allocation throughout project closeout.
• Provides process safety management, Health, Safety and Environmental assurance and ensures that all work is in compliance with local, state, and federal codes, laws and regulations, as well as site and corporate engineering standards.
• Leads development of project contracting strategy, including contract methodologies, bid analysis, and recommendation for selection/award. Works together with PSCM (Procurement and Supply Chain Management) group.
• Develops specifications, procurement documents, and reviews bid tabs for all material, contracts, third party services, and purchases.
• Responsible for project field construction budget, Works closely with Projects and Modifications construction group to ensure safe and efficient execution of all construction activities.
• Provides project management expertise in the development and execution of projects.
• Communicates project status to the stakeholders in a regular and timely basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 5+ yrs experience in project engineering/management. North Slope experience preferred.
• B.S. in engineering discipline (preferred).
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (preferred).

Job Specific Skill:
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management and project controls systems.
• Knowledge of and experience with stage gated project execution processes.
• Experience in identifying and managing risk throughout project lifecycle, from project development to project closeout.
• Understanding the Front End Loading (FEL) concepts, engineering, and project development.
• Experience in project execution planning including project contracting and construction strategy development.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects of various sizes and complexity.
• Familiar with relevant oil industry practices, codes and standards.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Engineering degree required
