The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.

In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
As the Project Leader you will manage the delivery of IM&T projects and initiatives, continually improve IM&T service quality to the business and encourage the fostering of project management excellence at the Company.

• Assist in the development of commercially sound business cases for IM&T projects.
• Manage projects and procurement in a cost effective manner ensuring that strategic and operational objectives are considered.
• Ensure projects meet planned budget.
• Assist IT Portfolio Manager and other IT management team members develop IM&T plans to support the business operations.
• Analyse the potential risks to the organisation as well as identify risks that may impact the ability to achieve a successful project completion.
• Create a successful integrated team environment on all projects.
• Represent the project at the relevant Advisory Group.
• Support PMO influence over internal and external stakeholders for all project types.
• Embrace the PMO vision, values and principles and support these when dealing with colleagues and other parties.
• Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the IM&T Programme Management Office (PMO).
• Support and foster a customer services ethos within the PMO.
• Effectively engage stakeholder groups for IM&T projects.
• Professionally represent the organization in workshop, meeting and other Company forums.
• Establish and maintain effective professional business networks.
• Proactively escalate project delivery issues (budget, resource, timeline) to the IT Portfolio Manager.
• Proactively seek out new and innovative techniques and processes to improve PMO internal processes and to improve the overall framing and delivery of the Company IT-business opportunities and projects.
• Ensure the project team follows all relevant project and company standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts according to agreed service levels.
• Project Management:
o Understand the business case and benefits as the initiative moves through the PMO lifecycle.
o Clarify the project roles and responsibilities with the Sponsor.
o Detail project planning and compiling a Project Execution Plan, including the budget, deadline and deliverables to commit to.
o Obtain sign-off of the Project Execution Plan from the Business Sponsor.
o Manage and direct a team of people to deliver on the commitments in the Project Execution Plan, including the recruitment and training of the team (as required).
o Manage the project scope, budget, schedule, risks and resources.
o Monitor project progress to ensure meeting the project deadline.
o Keep track of key project indicators and work with team members to mitigate all risks that threaten the project baseline.
o Work closely with the Business Sponsor/Owner in producing the project deliverables.
o Deliver project status, issue, risk and change reporting to Business Sponsor/Owner on a regular basis.
o Perform all risk, issue and change management of the project; escalating to the Business Owner or Sponsor when required.
o Understand inter-project, system and organisational dependencies and raise awareness within the project and at the relevant Advisory Group.
o Perform record-keeping and archiving of all project materials.
• Manage and facilitate project team meetings, framing sessions and reviews as required.
• Keep project records up to date within the PMO portfolio, work with PMO Administration as required.
• Actively assist the PMO in maturing the Programme Management Framework.
• Assist in assessing and selecting appropriate project management tools, techniques, processes and procedures to increase project management efficiency.
• Comply with the IM&T Project Management Methodology.
• Ensure project staff meet project performance requirements.
• Continually analyse project delivery performance to ensure it remains consistent with business needs and delivers according to agreed milestones, budgets and deliverables.
• Assist the IM&T team to:
o Build strong relationships with business units
o Better understand the particular environment of the users, the priorities of the department, and the day-to-day job duties and responsibilities.
o Liaise with our vendors, our purchasing area, our contracts area and other business areas within the Company as needed
o Actively contribute to knowledge and skill-sharing within IM&T and the Company generally.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in IM&T or related field, or relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in project management roles within an IM&T team of professionals, particularly in the oil and gas business.
• Previously experience working under a PMO.
• Excellent understanding of project management methodology.
• Understanding of the metrics required to demonstrate project delivery performance (diagnostic, predictive and retrospective).
• Experience working with various levels of management.
• Financial and commercial management.
• Ability to manage vendor and service provider relationships.
• Know how to drive a safety and teamwork culture.
• Proficient computer literacy and report writing skills.
• For SAP focused project managers:
o End to end hands-on project management delivery of SAP based business solutions.
o Delivery of the associated SAP technical components required to deliver SAP based business solutions.
