The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
An enthusiastic proactive Project Leader is required to join a growing team. (will also consider applicants who can develop into this role as long as they have some relevant experience)

Job Purpose:
The Project Leader (PL) is responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of projects so as to achieve favourable outcomes in respect of outputs, time, costs, specification and operational standards.

Accountabilities:
Working with the Project Manager, the PL will develop the cost base, schedule, partnering/supplier strategy, risk assessment and mitigation, EHS&Q plan, cash flow analysis, overall delivery programme and lifetime support programme for bids and quotations in response to customer ITT’s and RFQ’s.
The PL takes the project lead for awarded contracts and is accountable for project controls, change management, progress and financial reporting/forecasting, customer liaison and project delivery to cost and schedule. The PL will be supported by the Project Manager as required.
Develop a working knowledge of each of the systems required in EHS&Q and finance to underpin the work in each area.
Develop and implement the project plan including resource allocation.
Review and analyse budget information, expenditure information, and ensure forecast data input to the cost reporting system.
Have a good understanding of scheduling techniques and principles.
Continuous review of activity data, critical path, staffing/resource forecasts, progress/expenditure information, activity durations, earned value and year end carryover.

Other:
Ensure availability of SQEP personnel to deliver the contract and where necessary arrange for personnel training to meet programme requirements.
Overall project stakeholder management.
Duties to be carried out in a timely manner and with due consideration to the constraints within a commercial entity.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
APMP Qualified (may be studying)
Experience of using MS Project
NEC 3 experience
Planning and project controls experience.
Experience managing projects - budgets, costs, forecasts, scheduling, resource allocation etc.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Nuclear experience beneficial but not essential.
Ability to obtain security clearance
