The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
Responsible for developing and delivering quality disciplines relating to vehicle design, development and launch for all future vehicles. This will also involve taking leadership of quality activities on new vehicles to achieve programme targets. Ensure clarity of situation, direction and issues at all levels of company (Director to Technician).
Manage the introduction of new models from a quality aspect; from concept through to launch.
• Develop and implement plans and activities in order to deliver a continued improvement in product and delivery from a quality perspective.
• Co-ordinate activities of NMQ/SPM engineers to ensure programme targets are met.
• Ensure all project KPI and AMPCS targets are met.
• Reporting to management team and communicating issues up and down, including up to director level. Clear information flow to engineers of programme direction and requirements.
• Leading the development and implementation of quality process and agreed operating practices by working with other teams / interfacing organisations internally and externally.
• Drive quality support plans for production releases and engineering changes to ensure quality parts and vehicles are produced.
• Drive quality history reviews and campaign prevention related activities to ensure no repeat issues from previous models and robustness of new designs.
• Work closely with all departments to support virtual and physical builds.
• Ensure the vehicle and parts quality requirement is set in order to support programme requirement.
• Work within PST structure for achieving technical, process and timing deliverables during product development and launch.
• Report quality status at programme gateways to senior management.
• Drive systematic problem solving, root cause analysis & fix verification for issues found during concept, design, prototype build, testing and launch of new products.
• Lead the application of Quality tools by programme teams with emphasis on QHR, FMA activities and Practical Problem Solving at all stages of program development, including launch.
• The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post.
• CPA and DPV glidepath management
• Take a role to ensure quality targets are included in product definition and that these are delivered (craftsmanship, usability of vehicle, etc)
• The post-holder will be required to comply with all policies and procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical education to degree level or equivalent.
• Proven experience of quality tools including Supplier Part Approval Process (SPAP) and problem solving techniques.
• Knowledge and experience of leading quality within new model launch or current vehicle environment including FMA and inspection operations.
• Knowledge and experience of project management, preferably with working knowledge of AMPCS.
• Able to influence engineers and management in order to progress plans and activities.
• Proven ability to lead cross functional team meetings both internally and externally, defining clear improvement action plans.
• Ability to self manage and work under pressure to deliver quality, production and engineering requirements.
• Able to apply problem solving techniques to improve process capability, repeatability and reliability both internally and externally.
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to develop good teamwork with cross functional peers.
